2025 NEDGA 4Ball Championships at Jubilee 26/10/25

28 Oct by Phil Conway

A small field of 40 players had entered for the Championships this year. It was disappointing that no less than 3 nearby clubs had scheduled their own events on the same day.
All throughout the week the weather forecast wasn’t looking great for Sunday.
Everyone turned up in the morning to a bit of light drizzle.
The decision was made before the start of play to have everyone hit off on the back nine and play that full nine, before venturing out onto the front nine in a second sort of shotgun start.
Throughout the nine holes we had a bit of light rain and periods of clear weather which made some people hopeful of being able to get the full 18 holes in.
But when most groups had 2 or 3 holes to go the thunder was making its way over the hills and the temperature had dropped significantly.
The call for everyone to finish the full back nine before going onto the front nine was a great one in the end as the heavens opened up on most groups on their last hole.
The greens were saturated and a decision was made that no one argued with to abandon play and the winners would be decided by the 9 hole scores.

Women’s Scratch winners were Ali Comensoli and Lee Freeland from Jubilee
