The NEDGA Men journeyed down to Gippsland to play this year’s Country Week in the Golf West Gippsland district.
We played at Yallourn Monday afternoon, Trafalgar Tuesday morning and afternoon and Traralgon on Wednesday morning.

We opened the week with a 4/3 win over Golf Central at Yallourn in a great contest.
On Tuesday we then journeyed to Trafalgar to play on the undulating fairways at the foot of the Baw Baw ranges. Our adversaries in the morning were East Gippsland whom we defeated 6/1, whilst in the afternoon we came up against South Gippsland. This match was great tussle with the men eventually going down 4.5/2.5.

So leading into Wednesday we were requiring a 4/3 win to enable us to be promoted to Division One at Traralgon. However despite some tremendous golf we were unable to achieve our goal and went down 4/3.

Overall the players acquitted themselves excellently and enjoyed the company of the four districts we were matched against. Hopefully we achieve our aim of promotion to Division One next year.
Well done to the whole team on the way they conducted themselves for the three days, and also to the Team

At this time the country location for next year’s event is undecided, but hopefully this will be resolved in the coming months.
