Hi NEDGA Members,

Due to the impending retirement of Julie Kirchen, Judy Langford and Jenny Garner two positions will be available on the NEDGA executive for 2022 – Vice President and Women’s Golf Operations. There will also be vacancies on the Women’s Match Committee and the Men’s Match Committee

The position of Vice President can be filled by either a female or a male and as per the Womens Golf Operations position can only be filled by a fully affiliated member.

The position of Women’s Golf Operations is an NEDGA executive committee position, which means only fully affiliated members can hold this position (ie. Corowa, Howlong, Albury and Thurgoona (only) members cannot nominate for this position), however everyone can nominate for the Match Committee. Just a point to note, Julie Kirchen is also on the executive committee as Vice President and is not standing for this position again either. She has combined both positions (Match Committee and VP) so this is also an option to consider if you want to be on the executive committee without being Women’s Golf Operations.

The current committees have set up electronic files that will easily guide any newcomers through the organising of events. We also use Team App to communicate directly with all members. It is far less onerous than it used to be and we will always be here to help. Our NEDGA secretary Jac Surman is also always willing to assist and is a great help with anything to do with IT, or electronic stuff. You don’t have to be great with computers, just having the basics will do.

New committees come up with new ideas. It can be great to be involved with making positive changes or trying something different.

I sincerely hope that we can get three ladies in the District to put their hand up for committee, along with two men to assist with the match committee.
